Safe Family Adventures

There are many activities at our base in West Forks when you are not on the river. We have volleyball, horse shoes, hiking, lots of trails for biking (bring your bike) and swimming Ð just to name a few! One of the most fun and challenging activities is our Climbing Tower. We were the first rafting outfitter in Maine to have one. Ours is 25 feet tall and features overhangs and high angle climbs! This is fun and exciting for all ages!

Fun Yaks

funyaksOne of our sepecialties! A Fun Yak is an inflatable kayak, often described as a cross between a raft and a canoe. They are available to rent for flat-water kayaking on your own or sign up for instruction with a registered Maine whitewater guide on the lower Kennebec River with lots of Class II whitewater and plenty of surfing and hole playing. We'll take a short hike to 90-foot Moxie Falls where you can swim in the crystal clear pools and enjoy a picnic lunch.

Lower Kennebec Float Trips

A safe, scenic, and gentle, four-hour guided rafting tour on a lower portion of the Kennebec. No whitewater here. View the magnificent flora and fauna along the riverbanks. Linger on the shore for a snack and a swim. Spend the night at the Dead River Lodge. Build a bonfire, cook hot dogs, hamburgers and s'mores, and treat yourself to some homemade ice cream. Help yourself to a continental breakfast the next morning. $125 per person/minimum four (at least one adult).
